The Lady of Shalott

This is my very favourite reading of 'The Lady of Shalott', which I just found is on youtube, and which I can therefore share with you:



It's read by Michael Hordern, who will always be the voice of Aslan to me, but possibly also the voice of Alfred Tennyson as well. (His 'Audley Court' is hilarious and brilliant, but that's not on youtube.)

This seems like the place to post two paintings of the Lady of Shalott which were new to me recently. This is Sidney Meteyard's 'I am half sick of shadows' (1913):
